RadioShack Files for Ch11 Bankruptcy, Could Close Up to 2,600 Stores

Having been expected for months, RadioShack has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy organization with a plan that will see it sell from 1,500 to 2,400 stores of its 4,100 operated stores and close the remainder. Fort Worth-based RadioShack’s petition includes a an asset purchase agreement with General Wireless Inc., an affiliate of Standard General up to 2,400 of RadioShack's U.S. company-owned stores.
