Super Easy Weightloss, And Kills Cravings, Too

Here is an article I wrote recently on easy weightloss. Take a look, and let me know if you have any questions.

You can have easy weightloss. I've lost 40 pounds with a very basic system explained below. I'll be brief, and you'll be thinner.

Preparation
First, I recommend some support. If you can do this with a friend who will help you and whom you can call, you'll do better. Having support shares the load some.

Next, do what you can to decrease stress in your life. I'll get to the meat of the system below, but other factors can derail your success. If you reach for the Ben & Jerry's every time you have a disappointment or a rough day at work, you'll need to change that habit. Getting enough sleep will help you to decrease stress, by the way. You'll feel more motivated if you feel energetic.

Also, you'll need to modify your pantry a bit. Throw out, donate or share the foods you won't need anymore. A soup kitchen would love the canned items, for instance. You can make easy weightloss easier by eliminating the unnecessary items.

The Basics
Start with these and learn as you progress. The system works well if you follow it, so here it is in list form:

- Stop eating seconds

- After 7 or 8 pm, no food

- Wait until after 7 am to eat breakfast

- Limit your carbs to 60 grams per day (read food labels)

- Every so often, roughly 10 days, splurge with a piece of pie or other goody

- A small snack between lunch and dinner is okay, and some fruit is okay sometimes, especially on its own.

I like this plan because it is easy, and weightloss comes quickly. These are the basics I use, and they work. By limiting carbs, you'll kill the cravings quickly. Most come from sugar. You can eat anything you want with this plan, but you have to limit quantities. Less bread, less sugar, less white flour, but you can still have some within the 60 gram limit

Eating Ideas
Let's look at how this works. I buy low carb tortillas to avoid the sugar and carbohydrates in regular ones. These have great fiber content, and mission brand tastes great. Careful - some taste like cardboard. These substitute for bread in my meals.

Next, I eat lots of salad with regular dressing. Put on carrots, celery, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, sunflower seeds, chicken breast or whatever you like. But not croutons, oranges (a few manadarin pieces would be okay), tortilla strips, chow mein, or other breads. These all add too many carbs. Some cheese, almost any cheese, has low carbohydrates and will be fine.

Another weightloss idea I use, as mentioned above, a small snack can fill a gap in your day. Becoming overly hungry doesn't usually help in your quest. Think about it. When you haven't eaten and you feel very empty, do you think about food more? Most do. I find that when I fully engross myself in my work or other activities, I can last longer. Still, don't worry if you have a small, low carb snack in the afternoon.

When I Don't Eat
I mention above that I don't eat early in the morning. I get early, and used to eat right away. Waiting to eat accomplishes at least three great results. First, I burn more calories before eating again. Second, when I eat very early, say before 6:30 am, I am much more likely to eat again before lunch, at about 8:30 or 9. This means I ate at about 6, again at 8:30, again at lunch, perhaps an afternoon snack, then dinner. Not a recipe for easy weightloss.

By eating later, I find I appreciate the food more and don't miss the aggravation of trying to eat when I am just waking up. And I don't eat again midmorning. Believe it or not, eating requires energy, some preparation, effort, and clean up. Missing that to do something you like can actually be a relief.

Watch for opportunities like this in your own life. You can find times in your day or week that simply work better without food. You can find times that a delayed meal works better. Like this one: enjoy your lunch hour having fun instead of eating. Pick up a nice salad or keep something at your work station, and sneak it in later on in the day. You may find you like this arrangement better, and you can replace the spectacle of eating with a simple lunch, and weighloss will come easier.

Try the list above. It isn't hard, and it worked for me.

Note - I haven't found anyone who does exactly what I do, but this can help with easy weightloss and lead to 8-10 pounds lost quickly.

Weightloss ideas to kill your bad habits

A long time ago I learned a couple of weightloss ideas to help you kill a bad habit. It works to eliminate your attachment to something, as you’ll see below.

Some quick background. I grew up dieting. When I was about 10, I started putting on weight, and my mom started putting me on diets – awful right? At least she went on them, too.

So I have spent many years with this ingrained idea that food is fun, and no food is no fun. One of the weightloss ideas I learned as a teenager came back to me recently, about this habit of eating for fun.

Go buy your favorite food or snack – whether you eat it now or not. Get a cookie, a big muffin, a double sugar latte, or some Ben and Jerry’s. Once you have it, you can either take a bite, or not, and skip ahead.

When I say take a bite, I mean it. If you eat any, eat only a small amount. Next, toss it out. Yes, throw it away, whether you ate any or not. You want to change the idea in you that you have to finish that item or save it. You can get more.

Some more weightloss ideas to help you with this: Picture all the food you will ever and have ever eaten all in one place. Not easy, right? It would be a mountain of food. Just the turkey will make a huge pile for me. With all that food, you can spare a few cookies or a muffin. Toss it out.

And don’t buy another one to take its place right now. I know all about forbidden foods. I was on Sugar Busters for two years, and the second half of that included a lot of cheating. By the way, in Sugar Busters, you quit eating white sugar and white flour. Its a lot like South Beach.

This method of giving up ingredients creates a ton of forbidden foods. I decided, after quitting in frustration and gaining the weight back, all 35 pounds, that forbidden foods wouldn’t work for me. If it does for you, congratulations, and stay with it.

I decided my weightloss would have to come by prudently eating all kinds of foods in the right quantities. And so, throwing out some of it helps to keep me focused. If I want more, I can have it – tomorrow or the next day.

Give these weightloss ideas a try. Go get that double scoop of rocky road and mint chocolate chip ice cream on a sugar cone. Take a bite of each, and chuck it. You can handle it. And if you want, you can get another one tomorrow.

That’s my weightloss ideas for today. Come back soon and I’ll give you another.

A Great Stevia Treat

This is my Stevia Treat

Cool recipe for low carb eaters.

I have a quick recipe for a light treat you may want to try. It’s like toast with cinnamon and sugar. I’ll explain how to make it, then a couple of additions and changes you may want to make.

What you’ll need:

1 Mission brand Carb Balance Fajita size tortilla
These are low carb tortillas. They come in 3 sizes, regular white or whole wheat – both have high levels of fiber. The white show 5g net carbs, which is 12g carbs total, but 7g dietary fiber. The whole wheat has 4g net, I think.

Ground cinnamon – any you like will do.

Powdered Stevia
I use Optimum Nutrition Stevia Powder. If you aren’t familiar with stevia, it is a plant extract that is sweet but non-caloric. It originated in South America, but has spread all over the world. In Japan, for instance, diet beverages use stevia as a sweetener.

Stevia has a slight aftertaste, but comes directly from nature. You could, of course, substitute nutrisweet (aspartame), or Splenda (sucralose), or even xylitol or sorbitol, which are low glycemic, not low carb.

Fry or butter the tortilla. If you are going for extremely low fat, use that butter spray.

Sprinkle on some cinnamon. Sprinkle on some stevia – just a little. Stevia is something like 500 times as sweet as sugar, so be frugal.

This makes a nice low carb snack. The tortilla even has 3 grams of protein.

You can also use these little tortillas for other things as well. I make tacos and quesadillas.

Enjoy, and come back for more of the best weight loss tips.

That's how you make a Stevia Treat!

New Weight Loss Tip and Review

I have a new tip and a brief review.

I recently learned about a concept called calorie shifting, and it has to do with your metabolism.

Basically, in calorie shifting, you eat more occasionally to keep your metabolism high. If you don't, and starve yourself, you end up with lower burn rate that doesn't rid you of fat.

By keeping your metabolism high, you buy yourself faster weight loss and you have more energy.

Now for the review part -

I learned this from a book called Fat Loss 4 Idiots - a tacky title, but good for helping you lose weight.

The book authors recommend you eat anything you want on every 11th day, while following a semi-planned menu the other 10.

Ttake a look and you'll see a promise of fat loss - a fairly high promise you might be interested to see.

Here's the link - give it a try.

I'll be back with more weight loss tips soon. Use these to your good health.

First Weight Loss Tips

First Weight Loss Tips
For starters, I am not perfect at this. Writing this blog should help me follow the weight loss tips I have and that I find regularly.

About a year and a half ago, I lost 40 lbs over 6 months - which is great. As of today, I have kept that 40 off - very nice.

I did this by following a few simple weight loss tips & rules. Here they are:
  1. Don't eat after 8 pm (not my strong suit - need to work on this one.)
  2. Don't eat before 7 am (I go to work before 6, so this took some effort, but I got used to it.)
  3. No seconds. And don't pile on the firsts too high.
  4. No snacks or very small ones.
  5. Eat protein at least twice a day.
This worked for me - along with one more, from a 40 year old book called Carlton Frederick's Low Carb Diet: cut carbs to 60 per day. Ug.

If you've been on a low carb diet, you may know this isn't so easy. I have adjusted, but it isn't easy, and this weight loss tip doesn't always last.

I am a bit stuck with about 40 pounds to go. I'll post more later on some new things I have learned. Maybe following these new weight loss tips I'll get unstuck!
